On Saturday, March 19th, five organizations came together in the Student Advising Center for the university’s first ever “Dress For Success” event where all students were welcomed to attend.
The event was meant for students to have an outfit, resume, and cover letter ready for the Career Fair, which is on April 7th.
Student attendees were able to consult with a stylist, pick out clothing that fits their taste, and have it tailored. The tailors and stylists were all volunteers at the event.
After getting their outfits together, students were able to participate in a mock interview with members from UPS. During those interviews, UPS asked questions that a potential employer would, and also offered resume and cover letter help.
UPS held a panel discussion at the ned of the event where they gave students interview tips and what to do following an interview.
Organizers were pleased with how well the event went and the student turnout. They plan to have the event happen every semester before the career fairs.
