Many people wonder why student athletes do not get some form of monetary compensation for what they bring to the school: new applicants, ticket sales, etc. Below are graphs displaying how the athletic budget is allocated between each team and how many members are on each team.
According to the Department of Education, the operating (Game Day) expenses of all teams combined adds up to a total of $787,817. All the teams combined cost a total of $6,865,794. The amount of revenue the teams make is also $6,865,794 meaning that there is no money left over to give to the athletes anyway. What they cost is what they make.
